This week, we will begin our next story, Prudy’s Problem and How She Solves It. This engaging narrative follows Prudy, a young girl with a passion for collecting everything. Over time, her room becomes so full that she can no longer fit anything else. Prudy must then make an important decision about how to organize and manage all of her belongings. This story offers not only an entertaining plot but also meaningful lessons about organization, problem-solving, and critical thinking.

Our focus for Week 14 will center on two key areas:

  1. Vocabulary Development:
We will study vocabulary words #1–6 from our communication book. These words will be introduced, discussed, and practiced to ensure a clear understanding of their meanings and usage within the context of the story.

  2. Compound Words Exploration:
We will learn compound words #7–24, an essential component of this week’s lessons. Some of these words will be straightforward, as they can easily be broken into two familiar words to help infer their meanings. However, others will be more challenging, as they may include unfamiliar terms or less obvious combinations. To support comprehension and make learning interactive and enjoyable, we will utilize rebus pictures—visual representations of words—to help students deconstruct and understand each compound word. This method will provide a creative and memorable way to extend vocabulary knowledge and reinforce word recognition.

Throughout the week, students will engage in a variety of activities designed to deepen understanding, encourage critical thinking, and build strong vocabulary foundations that will support both reading and writing growth.
