Week 8

This week will be a shorter one in our leveling classes, as we focus on remedial work and addressing any unfinished or challenging topics. My goal is to strengthen the students' knowledge and skills in preparation for the upcoming Mid-Term exams. I hope this time allows students to consolidate their understanding while allowing them to reset and enjoy the long weekend for Children’s Day.

Looking ahead, we will thoroughly review the exam scope after the break to ensure all students are well-prepared. I will prepare various handouts and fun study activities for A2 students.

Additionally, on Wednesday, April 2nd, during Period 4, we will have a special “Reverse Teaching” lesson. In this creative and engaging activity, students will take on the role of the teacher for five-minute segments, introducing the class to a craft, lesson, game, or topic of their choice. Students will be selected at random through our HiTeach name wheel. I am confident this will be a fun and enriching experience for everyone.

This upcoming week ahead, students will continue their journey through the story Carl the Complainer , which will help reinforce key reading skills, including identifying cause and effect relationships. In addition to reading, we will focus on grammar lessons in our Reading and Writing Notebooks (RWNB), covering pronouns and multiple-meaning words that can function as both nouns and verbs. Week 16 will also mark an important milestone as students take their final Reading Street 2.2  unit test of the semester. We have some exciting and important lessons planned to enhance the students' reading, spelling, and grammar skills.
