Kumak's Fish Story




As we enter Week 5, we will have a shortened academic schedule with four school days due to the Grade 3 outing on Wednesday. During this week, our A2 students will focus on reading the story Kumak’s Fish from the Reading Street textbook. Our word work for week 5 will center around vocabulary and concepts from this story.

In addition, students will deepen their understanding of two types of sentences—declarative and interrogative—through their Reader's and Writer's Notebook (RWN) lessons. We will also review all key components covered in this unit to ensure students are well-prepared for Friday's Unit Test.

Please encourage your child to review at home and complete any assigned work to reinforce what we are covering in class.

This upcoming week ahead, students will continue their journey through the story Carl the Complainer , which will help reinforce key reading skills, including identifying cause and effect relationships. In addition to reading, we will focus on grammar lessons in our Reading and Writing Notebooks (RWNB), covering pronouns and multiple-meaning words that can function as both nouns and verbs.
