Week 12 – Reading Street: I Wanna Iguana Week 12 words I Wanna Iguana Story In week 12, students will begin a new story from our Reading Street program titled “I Wanna Iguana” by Karen Kaufman Orloff. The story presents a humorous and heartwarming exchange of persuasive letters between a young boy named Alex and his mother, as he tries to convince her to let him have an iguana. Students will explore the elements of persuasive writing and point of view through this creative format. Reading Objectives: Understand the purpose and structure of persuasive writing.
