Week 11

Week 11 words 

Dear Parents,

Now that our Midterm Exams are completed, the students of A2 will return to our regular lesson schedule this week. I am pleased to share that the A2 class performed very well on all three of their exams. The overall class average was strong, and each student demonstrated solid progress and understanding.

As we progress, we will continue to build on the skills we’ve developed. I will be placing a greater emphasis on grammar in each unit to better support and align with the students’ ongoing homeroom grammar instruction.

Please note that our current story, Penguin Chick, along with its corresponding Reading and Writing Notebook (RWN) lessons, will not be included on the final exam. However, students are still expected to participate fully in all classroom activities and discussions related to this unit.

Their hard work and dedication have paid off, though there are a few students who need to be more diligent in their studies and note-taking.  In addition, students have received new homework Bubble Books for the next three stories. I encourage students to be more productive in taking notes and highlighting key components of each unit as we move forward. Carl the Complainer Story Spelling Words from RWNB PPT Week 16 vocabulary words Week 16 Communication book insert As we approach Week 16, we are preparing for a busy and productive time in class. This upcoming week ahead, students will continue their journey through the story Carl the Complainer , which will help reinforce key reading skills, including identifying cause and effect relationships. In addition to reading, we will focus on grammar lessons in our Reading and Writing Notebooks (RWNB), covering pronouns and multiple-meaning words that can function as both nouns and verbs. Week 16 will also mark an important milestone as students take their final Reading Street 2.2  unit test of the semester. This test will assess their understanding of the lessons we’ve covered so far, as we get ready for the upcoming final exams, and transition to Reading Street 3.
