Carl the Complainer Story



This week, we are diving into the story of Carl the Complainer in our lessons. The students will be introduced to the week's vocabulary words, which they can find in their communication books. To help them understand the words, we will use visual aids and practice sentence-building activities in class.

On Friday, December 6th, the students will have a quiz covering all 24 vocabulary words. These will be selected at random, and the quiz will focus on word definitions, recognition, and proper usage.

Since this is a shorter week, the homework for Tuesday and Wednesday will consist of handouts that the students need to complete and glue into their HW Bubble Books.

Lastly, I’m happy to report that the students are making progress in their writing assignments. Though they still have some grammatical errors, with continued practice and repetition, I am confident that they will grow and improve their writing skills. We will continue to have weekly writing homework on Fridays.

This upcoming week ahead, students will continue their journey through the story Carl the Complainer , which will help reinforce key reading skills, including identifying cause and effect relationships. In addition to reading, we will focus on grammar lessons in our Reading and Writing Notebooks (RWNB), covering pronouns and multiple-meaning words that can function as both nouns and verbs. Week 16 will also mark an important milestone as students take their final Reading Street 2.2  unit test of the semester.
