Listening Exam Review Information

Oral Exam Information

As we approach week 9, we are beginning our preparations for the upcoming oral and listening exams. To help your child succeed, we would like to share some key review materials that will assist them in their studies.

The following areas will be the main focus for review:

  • Vocabulary: Review the vocabulary words from recent units, especially focusing on correct pronunciation and understanding their meanings in context. The students have a list of key vocabulary that they need to know their definitions and practice using in a sentence. The last post also has audio of the vocabulary to help students with pronunciation and sentences. 
  • Listening Skills: Practice active listening by asking your child questions about short stories or passages you read aloud together, they can also use their review material to help them.
  • Oral Practice: Encourage your child to speak in complete sentences, using the vocabulary and sentence structures we've learned in class. You can ask them to summarize stories; and use the oral exam guide to help them be better prepared.

Please ensure that your child spends time reviewing these materials and practicing at home. Consistent practice will help them feel more confident and prepared for their exams.

This upcoming week ahead, students will continue their journey through the story Carl the Complainer , which will help reinforce key reading skills, including identifying cause and effect relationships. In addition to reading, we will focus on grammar lessons in our Reading and Writing Notebooks (RWNB), covering pronouns and multiple-meaning words that can function as both nouns and verbs. Week 16 will also mark an important milestone as students take their final Reading Street 2.2  unit test of the semester. Spelling words from RWN Week 14 Vocabulary PPT   Firefighter Story Story Summary Pronouns Dear A2 Parents,  In the upcoming week, our class will continue exploring the Firefighter Unit in our Reading Street series. We have some exciting and important lessons planned to enhance the students' reading, spelling, and grammar skills.
