As we enter Week 7, I want to update you on our lessons and upcoming quiz and unit test to help your child succeed in their learning.

Writing Assignment: On Monday, October 7th, students will write the final copy of their first narrative writing piece titled "All About Me." This will be their first official Grade 3 writing assignment, and it will be included in their school portfolio. Over the school year, we will complete three writing pieces for the portfolio, showcasing different writing genres.

Vocabulary and Spelling Review: This week will also focus on reviewing all the vocabulary and spelling words we’ve learned throughout the unit. We will introduce new story words from Week 7's list in the communication book, helping students solidify their understanding of these key terms.

Conventions and Story Elements: The remainder of the week will involve lessons focusing on important grammar conventions covered in our Readers & Writers Notebook (RWN) and a deeper exploration of story elements. This will prepare the students for their Unit Test on Monday, October 14th.

How You Can Help: Please continue to support your child by ensuring they review their vocabulary, spelling words, and grammar concepts at home. This will build their confidence as they approach the unit test next week.

Thank you for your continued support. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out.
